    Is it possible to be great with the hammerburst without a modded controller?

    If you play Claw style with your middle finger on the trigger i find you can shoot the HB quicker. Crack your knuckles , loosen your wrists and that might help too. If you have cold hands your not gonna be able to shoot as fast.

    You can get fast with the trigger and it's a lot stronger with active clips like all guns. You can tell if someone's is modded usually you can see it firing a lot faster than the sound effects, also when people are able to keep it at full speed while strafing and aiming. It's by far the cheapest gun when used with a "modded" or aftermarket controller, definitely pisses me off when people use them.

    If you dont mind your trigger finger being a tad sore after a hour of play, but it gets better.
