Gears 3 - 3D not working on Samsung 51"?

Go to the menu to turn on 3D in the game. You press Y to enable 3D and it creates a "double image" as you say. Then you have to turn the 3D on on your TV. When you do it will give you three options: 2D > 3D conversion, vertical stereoscopic, and horizontal stereoscopic. You want the vertical one; on my Samsung this is the one in the middle and looks like it's showing a double image split screen. Once you do that it will bring the two images together creating the 3D effect. Then just turn on your 3D glasses and you're good to go.

Keep in mind that only the game will be in 3D. Once you go to the Xbox 360 menu it will be all weird and you'll need to turn the 3D off on your TV.

I dont know too much about 3D, but, do you have your xbox hooked up to your tv via HDMI? Methinks that if you're not your tv may not allow 3D processing on an older input type than HDMI.

A lot of the new 3D tvs will only accept HDMI input for SBS/Over Under/Interlaced formats. If you are running through VGA or Component it is likely that your TV will only give you the 2d-3d conversion option. best solution is use a HDMI lead from your system directly to your TV!

Why wouldn't you want to play in 3D? It's like having HDTV, but still watching standard definition. Why not try it time to time? If you have the equipment, why not put it to use? I am going to try this out a littl later

i did everything that gccsilver said but my 3d button was still blocked after about 20 minutes i finally found the solution go into system settings> console settings>display> display discovery and make sure its disabled your system should restart enable 3d in display setting if you already didn't and your 3d button should now be selectable load gears and go to options enable the 3d feature it should split you screen in to select SBS on your TVs 3d settings and enjoy

also if your trying to watch a 3d movie on your PC make sure its connected through HDMI (i don't think it'll work with VGA but i might be mistaken) you have to lower your screen resolution to 1280x720 anything higher will block out your TVs 3d button
