Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Hints & Cheats

After the Gameboy logo has appeared, hold either the A or B buttons. The music that plays when you save the Princess will play on the intro screen.

To unlock the Photo Album pictures, you must:

Unlockable	How to Unlock
Koopa Troopa	Stomp, and then kick (off a ledge) or run into (while using a Starman) a Koopa Troopa or Koopa Paratroopa.
Spiny	Fireball or run into (while using a Starman) a Spiny.
Buzzy Beetle	Stomp, and then kick (off a ledge) or run into (while using a Starman) a Buzzy Beetle.
Bowser, Part 1	Defeat Bowser in World 1-4 with Fireballs.
Bowser, Part 2	Defeat Bowser in World 2-4 with Fireballs
Bowser, Part 3	Defeat Bowser in World 3-4 with Fireballs.
Bowser, Part 4	Defeat Bowser in World 4-4 with Fireballs.
Mario & Luigi, Part 1	Defeat Bowser in World 5-4 with Fireballs.
Mario & Luigi, Part 2	Defeat Bowser in World 6-4 with Fireballs
Mario & Luigi, Part 3	Defeat Bowser in World 7-4 with Fireballs.
Mario & Luigi, Part 4	Defeat Bowser in World 8-4 with Fireballs.

Simply do these things and you will earn more pictures in your album:

Red Coin Medal	Collect all 5 Red Coins in all 32 levels in Challenge Mode
Yoshi Egg Medal	Collect the Yoshi Egg from all 32 levels in Challenge Mode
Score Medal	Beat the High Score in all 32 levels in Challenge Mode
Peach Medal	Beat all 32 levels in Challenge Mode with Red Coins, Egg, and High Score
Toad Medal	Fill up the Challenge Mode Score Meter
Yoshi Medal	Beat 8-4 in the Lost Levels (Super Mario Brothers for Super Players)

Unlockable	How to Unlock
Goomba picture	To get this picture, stomp a Goomba.
Blooper picture	To get this picture, defeat a Blooper (Octopus).
Lakitu picture	To get this picture, kill a Lakitu (Cloud man on 4-1).
Cheep Cheep picture	To get this picture, kill a Cheep Cheep (Fish).
Hammer Bros. picture	To get this picture, defeat one set of the Hammer Bros.
Bullet Bill	Stomp or run into (With a Starman) a Bullet Bill.
Fireworks	Complete a stage with 1, 3, or 6 as the final number of the remaining time.
1-Up Mushroom	Find a 1-Up Mushroom anywhere in the game.
Vine	Enter a bonus stage anywhere in the game.
Vs. Mode	Link up with a friend and play Vs. Mode.
Princess Peach	Beat the original 1985 game.
Trading	Link up with a friend and trade high scores.

Use Luigi

On the screen with Mario standing, it keeps beeping. Press Select and you will be Luigi.
Be any type of Mario in You VS Boo mode

On the part where you choose the level you want in You VS Boo, press select. It will change you so that you can be any kind you want. Normal, Super, or Fire Mario.
Fireworks at end of level

Finish the level with a time of 1 3 or 6 at the end, and you will get the amount of fireworks that it ended in. You get 500 points per firework.
Earn Mario and Bowser medals

Complete the original game to earn the Mario medal. Then go back to the same file and play the 2nd quest. Beat that to earn the Bowser medal.
Unlock -You Vs. Boo- Race Levels

In a normal game once you get 100,000 points they will be unlocked.
Unlock -SMB for Super Players-

In a normal game once you get 300,000 points it will be unlocked. These are the lost levels that were originally Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan and appeared in Super Mario All Stars elsewhere.
Get 5 more lifes at the start of a new file

Go into the fortune telling part. Keep randomly picking a card, until you get an Extremely Lucky card. Now start a new file. You will have 10 lifes instead of 5.

NOTE:This will only work on a new file. It won't do anything on a file with progress.
