GBAs set to get Wild

New game based on Disney's upcoming animated film set to arrive from Buena Vista Games as movie hits theaters.

Disney's new computer-animated family film The Wild is set to hit theaters in April, but interested gamers will be able to get an early taste of the story courtesy of Buena Vista Games. The publisher has announced that The Wild for the GBA will arrive in stores on April 4, more than a week before the film's April 14 release.

The film follows the story of Samson the Lion (voiced by Kiefer Sutherland of 24 fame) and Benny the Squirrel (Jim Belushi, star of Curly Sue and K-9) as they venture out of the safe confines of the zoo and into the wild to save Samson's young son. Janeane Garofalo (The Truth About Cats & Dogs, Mystery Men), William Shatner (Star Trek, Tek War), and Eddie Izzard (Velvet Goldmine, All the Queen's Men) also provide voice work for the film. Aimed at an audience of 6- to 11-year-olds, the game follows Samson and Benny through 18 side-scrolling levels on their way to rescuing Samson's son.

Neither the game nor the movie has yet been rated.

My (6yr old) Son and I saw the trailer for this movie this weekend. Even KIDS are starting to notice that Disney isn't even trying anymore. He liked the Madagascar game, I think we'll skip both the movie and game on this one.

Geez. Magascar was a decent movie, but if you're going to rip it off, can't you at least disguise the story a little? Like, say, not using two animal types that were in the movie you're ripping off (a lion and a giraffee).

Also makes you wonder how quickly this movie was thrown together. I mean, Madagascar didn't come out too long ago.

at least they could have made a different zoo than the new york zoo ( i dont know i looked it up to see if they gave credit to dreamworks). i mean that just screams madagascar. the only difference is disney made it "zoo peers who put aside their differences to go to the wild and get back their friend". 'gag'
