Nintendo announces European release schedule

Lots of titles head to the DS and GameBoy Advance, but the GameCube is largely overlooked in the run-up to the Wii.

Nintendo has announced the release schedule for the games that we can expect to see in Europe in the next few months.

As you'd expect, the majority of the games will be made available for the DS, and among the top titles are Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (June 9) and New Super Mario Bros. (June 30). Others of note will include Super Princess Peach (May 26), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Chest (June 21), and Big Brain Academy (July 7).

Significant support remains for the Game Boy Advance, with more than 25 games announced. These include Street Racing Syndicate (May 12), X-Men: The Official Game (May 19), Final Fantasy IV Advance (June 2), and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (September 12).

However, with the GameCube being replaced before the end of the year by the Wii as Nintendo's flagship living room console, it has only a few significant titles due for release. Chibi-Robo (May 26), Super Monkey Ball Adventure (June 2), and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (September 12) are among only 12 titles due.

The Cube is still great, it has more than enough great titles to warrant keeping it. BTW, just got a DS lite from China. Man, it is awesome. Anyone want a second hand PSP?

..Why does the rest of the world hate us? What did Europe ever do to the game industry? Why are we always made to wait??? I'd pay the PSP Giga Pack price tag for a DS lite if only I could just have it now... Thank god for Ebay.

    World War 2?
the WW2 is not because of whole europe, because of germany

nintendo doesn't treat us the worst (UK here) its Squaresoft that by FAR screws us over. Not only does the UK have to wait about 6 months for the very same Square games as the US gets, BUT they do a really really crappy PAL conversion, resulting in terrible slowdowns and a nicely letterboxed image.

Square-Enix is by far the worst if nintendo wants any form of change in market share they NEED to take europe too, otherwise its gonna be an extremely strong Sony/Microsoft-based market in Europe.

If Nintendo are smart (which they are) They'll want to get Wii out the same time as the PS3. My gamestation is already taking PS3 orders, when I asked about the Wii they said they had no idea.
DS games being delayed is no problem for me. It's cheaper to import them from the USA than it is to buy them here :-)
As for GC, I've yet to buy any of the decent games for the system. I only have Mario Kart and a few others. However, I'm getting 4 games for £20 tomorrow: Metroid prime 1&2, Tony Hawk and Eternal Darkness. Whoo

    Wii:

Ok, listen up you guys. Nintendo said before that the Wii will be released BEFORE thanksgiving in USA. Nintendo also said taht it would take up to about 14 weeks to worldwide launch. But Nintendo Europe is pushing Nintendo Japan to set the release date for Europe BEFORE chrismas because the holidays are the most valuable days of the year. (i don't know how the guys in USA see this, but in Europe (were I live) this is common knowledge). Nintendo Europe wants the Wii in stores before the end of this year. And if Europe is lucky (witch we count on) then Wii Will have one IN 2006.

    About DS lite for Europe:

Nintendo confirmed earlier that DS lite WILL be sold together with the release of Brain Age. When Brain Age comes out on the 9TH OF JUNE DS LITE will come out too.

So, now you newbies have been fully updated, I'll continue with my normal work: Playing games. :-P

    And remember: LightmanOne.

I hope people in Europe gets games soon. But they have to translate it, and many other things. Luckly here in Mexico we have the games the same day that America.

Nice but why does Nintendo allow GB games to come out

Maybe because they don't want it to die, also the Ds is not the new gameboy you know, it's a entirely new console, so shut up you idiot!

No, Nintendo said it's coming out fourth quarter 2006 and before thanksgiving

http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/708/708063p1.html by default the DS is the new successor to the Gameboy and after this year expect only trickle of GBA games.

Well they didn't mention the full list of 12 so I wouldn't give up on the idea of a PAL version of Baten Kaitos: Origins. After all it was Nintendo not Namco who brought the original Baten Kaitos to Europe, Australia and New Zeland.

What annoys me is when people have pointless arguments about which console is better but 99% of sony and ms owners only play these games on their console : pro evolution soccer, fifa, halo, gta, gran turismo . Do u see my point , how can sony and ms justify selling there consoles for so much when most people only play 5 games on the console, its ridiculous, whats worse is when sony try and act as if crash bandicoot can step up to mario, mario would rape crash anytime anyplace

This is a tad unrelated but man Nintendo has heart. This system is will be awsome. It will rescue Nintendo from the bottom of the console food chain. I just feel sorry for them because everyone is stealing the whole motion sensing thing. Although Sony's isn't as good, MS could give them trouble in the motion-sensing arena, because the 2 360 cameras can detect things in 3D space which tell me if im wrong is a little more advanced then NIntendo's system of motion detection. It will be more expensive though
