Garhasp does a competent job as the indie God of War, but it would have been more adequate at half the price.

User Rating: 6.5 | Garshasp PC
The Iranian answer to God of War has arrived. Garhasp offers similar action packed and smooth combat coupled with light platforming and adventuring elements.Make no mistake though, this game is nowhere near the production values of the game it's trying to mimic. Still the games of this type on PC are very rare, and i thought it would be good to support smaller developers.

The game lacks a lot that is present in modern games, but it has a lot of charm and ambition. The graphics were the biggest drawback for me personally, it looks like something from eight years ago. The performance wasn't the best for me as well.

I also didn't like the storytelling. It might be an accurate representation of Persian mythology, but still it lacks cohesiveness, and characters with personality to themselves. Everything is done with a narrator with a monotone voice. I feel like it's a missed opportunity.

What the game does good is the combat. It's fun and satisfying, and there is a sense of progression. The platforming and adventure elements are also competent.

Garhasp is a game if you like this genre, and you've already played all the games available on PC. You can appreciate it's combat and it's ambition. The current pricing is a bit steep and you might feel cheated. I would wait for a discount, because the current pricing doesn't really justify the content.
