The Game Boy Advance SP's internal light is much better than what you get with add-on lights for the GBA, and it effectively replaces the internal lighting modifications tried by ambitious GBA users. So now, once you have an SP handheld, you're almost set, except for options like link cables and the e-Reader. Link cables make it easy to get multiplayer GBA gaming going between up to four handhelds, and the GBA-to-GameCube cable can open up features in certain games.

Game Boy Advance SP
The new, smaller version of the Game Boy Advance runs all the games the regular GBA does and has two major new features: an internal front light to make the GBA screen visible even in a dark room and a 10-hour lithium rechargeable battery (18 hours with the light off). The new clamshell design is about 3 inches square and can fit in a pocket. |

Link cables
There are two kinds of link cables for the GBA: the Game Link cable used to connect up to four GBAs for multiplayer play and the cable used to link the GBA to a GameCube via the GBA's cartridge slot.
