Obed Morton's Office

Flip the light switch to the left of the door. There are many things to examine throughout the room. Check out the diploma on the wall. Arm your weapon as you pass by the large cabinet--there are hounds that materialize and attack. Locate two first aid kits in the desk to the left of the crates. Obed's journal rests on a desk to the left of the first aid kits. There's a book on the bookshelf to the left with some ammunition. Finally, grab the box of magnesium bullets from the table across the mirror.

Arm your revolver and shoot the mirror several times to break the glass. Approach and read the book inside the hidden compartment--after Aline puts the book down, she states, "I should go back to see Lucy Morton." Exit Obed's office and automatically appear in Lucy Morton's room.

Approach Lucy and speak with her. She hands you a glass prism after the conversation. Exit Lucy's bedroom and retrace your steps to Alan Morton's office. Go left to the door at the end of the hall and enter the staircase. Descend to the second floor. Enter the second-floor door and go into Alan Morton's office on the left.

As soon as you enter the room, turn off the lights--unless they are already off. Approach the projector near the desk at the top of the small staircase. Use the prism on the projector. Next, use the flashlight on the projector. Use the action button on the projector to watch the film of some sort of experiment. Once the film ends, the projector ejects a cube. Grab the engraved cube and exit Alan Morton's office.

Return to the staircase. Descend to the first floor. Enter the door and kill the two zombies with your triple-barreled shotgun. Enter the double doors on the right to access the manor library.

The Library

Use the light switch to the left of the library front door. Walk forward and read the journal on the desk to the left and the biography on the podium to the right. Ascend the library steps by proceeding around to the back of the library along the right side (Aline's right if you're facing away from the entrance doors).

Once you reach the second-floor balcony, proceed to the third-floor steps and note the secret room on the left side. Enter the secret room and pick up two boxes of phosphorous cartridges in the right corner. Exit the room and ascend to the third floor all the way to the dead end.

Use the action button against the railing to see a bird's-eye view of the library. Toggle your inventory and check out the cube, which says that it can give you a 3D view of the library. Tilt the cube around and note that it does resemble the bookshelves; also note the number 1991. Look at the position of the white star on the cube and then check out the top view of the library to find where that white star would be.

Before you descend back to the first floor, you can climb the white ladder and walk along the ledge into the tower. You'll find a box of grenades inside the tower. Descend the library steps to the first floor. If you're facing the library bookshelves, face the area between the first and second bookshelves to Aline's left. Look on the right shelf on the second bookcase to discover a set of books requiring some sort of numerical code. Remember the cube?

Enter the code 1991 into the books and press the action button. Walk inside the secret room and grab the Abkanis tablets, the first aid kit, and the charm of saving. Pull the lever inside the small room. A creature caged in a glass tube rises in the center of the library. The cutscene reveals that the creature breaks out of its glass cage and attacks Aline.

This is a tough fight, so you should use the grenade launcher. You should have plenty of ammunition if you grabbed the box of grenades from the tower. Run often to keep your distance away from the fast beast. Aim and plant a grenade at the creature to knock it back momentarily. You'll need to stuff about seven grenades into the beast's chest to stop it. It falls over in a slump.

Walk over to the creature's former glass cage and grab the half medallion. Aline hypothesizes, "That must mean something to Lucy Morton." Time for another trip to Lucy's! Exit the library through the front entrance, and you automatically visit Lucy, who hands you the other half of the medallion.

When you leave Lucy's room, you witness a brief scene of the beast rising again. Cross the hall to the door on the right and descend the spiral staircase on the other side to the first floor. Arm your triple-barreled shotgun and open the door. Blast the two zombies. Cross the hall and enter the first-floor hallway. Kill the two creatures lurking about with your shotgun; head to Aline's right and enter the double doors on the left into the manor lobby.

Manor Lobby

Arm your shotgun and blast the creature patrolling the lobby. Switch the lights on by crossing the lobby to Aline's left and using the switch near the kerosene lamp. Walk to the mirror across from the lobby staircase. Approach and speak with Carnby over the walkie-talkie. Toggle inventory and combine the two half medallions in your inventory into the bronze sun.

Use the bronze sun on the right side of the mirror. It unlocks a secret passage. Use the mirror again with your action button to enter a secret tunnel and head down into the cellar.
