Chapter 11: Ordos Campaign Walk-Through This section contains the walk-through for the House Ordos campaign. Emperor: Battle for Dune presents a unique campaign structure. You actively participate in the on-going battle between the three houses: Atreides, Harkonnen, and Ordos. As commander of the Ordos forces, you can choose to mount your assault on either House Atreides or Harkonnen. To complete the campaign, you must successfully defeat one of the two enemy houses on Arrakis and its home planet--then face off in a challenging final mission! Since many campaign decisions are up to you, there's no clear-cut path through any of the three house campaigns in Emperor: Battle for Dune. There are attack missions, defend missions, and several missions that appear during every house campaign. This walk-through will cover the missions that appear in every campaign as well as tactics for succeeding in the attack and defend missions. You'll also find tips on defeating the campaign's final mission. Ordos First Mission Terminate the enemy and capture the territory. Briefing: Greetings, strategist. Your employment contract is now in effect. Total obedience to the executrix is mandatory. You will do as you are ordered. You will command the Ordos forces on Arrakis. Victory is mandatory. Failure is unacceptable. Destroy the base. Neutralize the enemy. Objective: The executrix will control the Golden Lion throne and rule the known universe. As a means to this end, you will acquire control of the production of the spice melange. Its only source is the planet Arrakis. Conquer the planet for House Ordos. That is your directive. Atreides forces attack within moments of the mission's start. Thankfully, your base is well fortified and defended by turrets and a scatter of infantry and vehicles. Check the overhead map to note the location of the incoming House Atreides forces and position your defenses accordingly. You shouldn't have much trouble repelling the attack as long as you funnel the enemy forces toward your line of turrets and defending units.
Two additional sets of attacking Atreides reinforcements are sent in toward your base, so prepare for their imminent attack. You could build an Ordos factory and start pumping out dust scouts to bolster your defense. Also, click on the barracks panel and produce dozens of Ordos chemical troopers. Don't venture away from your base too quickly. Stay within the confines of your base and defend against the Atreides attacks there before moving toward the southern enemy base. Funds shouldn't be a problem--you can easily overwhelm the Atreides forces and their lightly defended base. Produce as many dust scouts and Ordos infantry units as funds allow! You can even erect additional flame turrets for more protection and practice. Explore northeast from your base location to uncover crates and wreckage that net additional funds, which you can use to produce even more infantry and dust scouts. Sometime after the first set of reinforcements arrives, a new group of Atreides forces appear along the southwestern side of the map--it's time for a worm demonstration! The Atreides reinforcement group is swallowed by a hungry sandworm. As you move units across the Arrakis sands, you must be cautious and alert for "worm signs." These indicate the presence of a sandworm. Move your units away as quickly as possible to keep them alive! Once you possess a large force of dust scouts and chemical troopers (for instance, 20 to 30 vehicles and ground troops) start inching your way toward the Atreides base. Pick off any Atreides troops that attempt to interfere with your mobile juggernaut force. Make a pit stop about halfway to the Atreides base and investigate the civilian buildings and surrounding structures about halfway down the northern edge. You'll find additional crates around the ruins (grab them for funds) as well as barrels. Shoot the barrels to cause chain reactions and large explosions.
Maneuver toward the Atreides base in the south. Approach the Atreides base from the northern entrance. You'll face moderate defenses; however, all the defenses and structures are positioned next to inviting explosive barrels. Target the barrels instead of the defenses and structures to cause large, chain-reaction explosions that annihilate the nearby structure. Keep your units back! You can die in the explosion as well!
Clear out the Atreides machinegun posts and enemy units before moving against the relatively harmless Atreides structures. When you do move against the nonhostile buildings, target the construction yard and unit producers first, followed by the wind traps and other base structures. The mission ends in success once all Atreides structures are destroyed.
