Chapter 6 - The Halberd of Horrendous The captain believes that reassembling a certain staff will help in the fight against Hecubah. A warrior of great strength, guarded well, holds the first piece. The captain offers you three spell books: lock, invisibility, and trap. You'll wish you'd kept hold of your sneakers, too. Quest: Sneak into Dün Mir through the Sewers Your first big task is to get past the two sewer guards. No need to sneak past them, as there is a small looping passage nearby, which is perfect for laying traps. A small hut along the loop contains a silver key that unlocks the front gate. One of the guards holds a gold key. The gate that the gold key opens (a bit later on) may be bypassed if you fireball the wall to the left of where the gate touches the wall, if you'd prefer to sneak past the two guards. Sneak past the first pair of guards to make the wizard's life a bit easier. Soon after, the tunnel forks, with the left fork leading to a gate that requires another gold key and the right fork leading to a guarded building. From this point on, it is possible to avoid almost all fights by going invisible, but it is also quite possible to kill every guard you see - it's your choice. From the tunnels, you emerge onto a platform surrounded by boiling lava. At the northeast end of the platform is a chest that holds the silver key to the gate to the chest's northwest. Bear right and bypass the sliding spiked blocks by using the alcoves. Here it is probably wisest to turn invisible and slip past the next two guards into a side tunnel that has a mana regenerator. Wait for the patrolling guard to go through the gate and lock it behind him. Now, the two guards are at your mercy. Next: The halbred of Horrendous (cont.)
