AM2's visually stunning follow-up to Virtua Racing threw texture-mapped polygons all over the place and boasted featured stunning detail on the cars and environments. On the last corner on the first track, however, a giant image of Sonic is carved out of the stone above. Be warned though that if you spend too much time looking at it you'll crash into the corner and lose the race!
Rad Mobile
System: Arcade
This unfortunately obscure hydraulic arcade title was one of the last sprite-based racing games to come from the company, but ironically enough it was the very first time Sonic appeared in any digital form. You viewed the game from a driver's-eye perspective, and hanging off the rearview mirror was a Sonic doll!

Sonic in Super Monaco Grand Prix 2. |
Super Monaco Grand Prix 2
System: Mega Drive
Sonic's connection with Formula One extended beyond flaky-looking sponsorship deals (detailed later) - he made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in Super Monaco Grand Prix 2. Simply start a new world championship, select a rival, and wait awhile. Sonic then tears across the screen. Useless but cool anyway.

Have your character go to a vending machine in this Dreamcast RPG, insert some cash, and, if you're really lucky, you can win a Sonic toy. Pointless, sure. But it's Shenmue.
Xmas Nights
System: Saturn
Sega's Yuletide gift to the gaming world also had an ounce of Sonical cheer for everyone. In Xmas Nights, you could unlock different presents from around the snow-capped level. One of the rarer presents gave you the ability to play the game as Sonic himself. While our favorite hedgehog didn't offer anything new in the gameplay department, it was cool to see him flying around surrounded by Flickies again.
