Yes, it's the sequel to GameSpot PC's game of the year for 2001. Yes, it's a $20 game. And yes, Serious Sam: The Second Encounter is completely amazing, just like its predecessor. We figured that there was no way that developer Croteam would be able to top itself, considering how completely insane the first Serious Sam game was. We were wrong--The Second Encounter has lots more of the frantic, fast-paced action of the previous game, along with huge outdoor levels, new weapons, and a horde of new monsters that are even more preposterous than those of the first game. The Second Encounter is even brighter, faster, funnier, and tougher than the first, and it's a natural choice for GameSpot PC's game of the month for February.
