![]() Game of the Year Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn Publisher: Interplay Developer: BioWare
"First of all, the quests in this game are much better than those found in any other RPG. While most games simply have you run some useless errands or make you fight endless hordes of boring monsters until you get to one powerful boss, Baldur's Gate II offers a lot of intelligent and rewarding quests. A lot of quests require a decent amount of puzzling, and they can be solved in multiple ways. This definitely adds to the role-playing experience."
"You will want to play all five classes; you will want to complete this game in all three difficulty levels. The endless number of possible items (rare, unique, magic, socketed, normal, superior, or set), as well as the 30 skills provided for each character class, help to no end. But most importantly of all is the absolutely perfect gameplay. I, for one, have never had trouble manipulating items or moving from place to place, and fighting an enemy is fast and fierce, unlike in the previous game in which dealing with an enemy was repetitive. Here, you can kill them in dozens of different ways. Excellent."
