And the Winner Is...
Well folks, the contest has officially ended, and the time has come to announce the winner of the "best game room." I got quite a few responses, most of which brought a tear to my eye. I can't really say for sure if it's out of jealousy or what. Needless to say, most of the people who sent in pictures have pretty sweet setups. In the end, it was really hard to pick just one winner, especially since there weren't any real guidelines--just whoever had the whole "gaming paradise" thing locked down. Below are some of the best pictures that I received.

After taking a look at the contestants, we can clearly see that when most people start collecting games, they don't stop. Some folks opt for the latest in high-tech gear, while others just like to have it all, whether it be consoles that were just released or systems that were on the market long before some of us were old enough to pick up a controller. After careful deliberation, it all came down to just one room, a room that was a little different from the rest, but a room that just about any gamer would kill for. At any rate, the winner is...

I'd like to tip my hat to everyone who took the time to send in pictures. It was great fun to see exactly where my fellow gamers spend their time.
Since we're on the subject of gaming rooms, I currently have a small problem. As most of you know, I don't exactly have much space to spare in my little closet, and I'm just about ready to go out and buy a GameCube and Xbox, thanks to the wonders of the fat tax refund. The only problem is, I have no idea where to put them, let alone what games I should buy. I imagine I can pick up a filing cabinet somewhere, and that would add a little more room, and that's what I'll probably end up doing. As far as the games go, I'm currently looking at Halo, Jet Set Radio Future, and Gunvalkyrie. On the GameCube side, I'm pretty interested in Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. So here's where my problem lies. Should I buy both systems and a couple of games or just one system with a bunch of games? It's really a hard decision to make. I've tried consulting my wife, but she's not much help. Both systems I mentioned have tons of great games coming out this year that I really want to play, so right now, I'm leaning toward just getting both. What do you think? Is there something fundamentally wrong with my logic? Before I forget, I was also thinking about buying a new PC to replace my ancient Pentium II machine that is on its last legs and finally start playing PC games again. If you would be so kind as to give me your advice, it would really help me out, since I'm so bad at making decisions.
Okeydokey, it's time for me to get going. I won't be around for a couple of weeks since I'm going to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, Georgia, with my wife and some friends. I fully expect my inbox to be flooded with mail when I return, so if it takes a while for me to respond, don't worry. I'm probably just recovering from the worst hangover of my entire life. Until next time, Erin go bragh!
