One of the most oft-heard comments around the GameSpot offices this week has been about how we can't figure out where E3 went. It certainly feels like we just finished the show. We have sore feet. Our fingers are numb. We're exhausted. All the physical effects of those five days in Los Angeles are there, but when we really think back on the experience, it all becomes a blur of flashing lights, looping soundtracks, booth girls, and games, games, games. E3 is a draining experience, for sure, but when you get down to it, there's really no other way to cram the whole damn video game industry into one frenzied week and one cramped floor space.

We may have left our hearts (and our sanity) in LA, but we managed to bring back brains full of knowledge on every game, every video, and every presentation we saw at E3. For all you readers who didn't get to attend the show, we've culled the best of the best from our collective recollection of E3, and now we'd like to award the games most deserving of recognition.

In this feature, you'll find the winners of GameSpot's Best of E3 competition, broken down according to platform for easy perusal. Please note that though the lists are numbered, the games are not listed in any particular order, aside from the winning game on each platform. We're also highlighting a few other aspects of the show that caught our eyes, such as the biggest surprise during E3, the best videos we posted, and the downright weirdest games we saw. So without further ado, here are GameSpot's picks for the very best of E3 2003.
