This is the highest honor that we bestow upon a PlayStation 2 game, and with it we acknowledge the one game that stands out from all the rest as being the hands-down greatest, most highly recommendable game of them all. The PlayStation 2 continued to enjoy its status as the world's most popular console this year. While some first-party titles didn't quite stack up, plenty of them did, and the PS2's library ends up stronger than ever now.
