Best Port of a 16-Bit Classic

If there's one thing for sure, it's that the Game Boy Advance is the perfect home for ports of 16-bit classics. Gamers who played some of these games when they were originally released can enjoy them all over again on the GBA, and do so wherever they please. And perhaps best of all, those who missed out on the games the first time around can now experience some of the best games of a bygone era. Our award for this category goes to the game that has stood the test of time better than any other and is most successful in its new portable incarnation. Here is the winner of Best Port of a 16-Bit Classic:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Flagship

Though all our nominees for this award are great in their own right, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a shining example of a game that, despite its age, still holds up just as well as it did when it was first released. Plus, it's a great game to have on the go, and Nintendo even went the extra mile and included a keen new multiplayer game that wasn't featured in the original release. If you've never experienced this incredible SNES action adventure game, think of this as your second chance.

Other Nominees:

Breath of Fire II
Super Ghouls & Ghosts
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
