Infogrames has announced that an enhanced version of V-Rally 3, which was released for the PS2 last year, will be released for the GameCube in March. The most obvious improvements to the game will be the visuals, which will include special effects that Eden Studios was not able to implement in the PS2 version, and an updated livery for the Ford Focus. The other noticeable improvements to the GameCube version of the game will see the handling of the cars becoming more responsive and the tracks becoming a little wider--keeping the game simulation-oriented but making it a little more accessible.

"It was inevitable that V-Rally 3 would release on the GameCube as it was a logical stage of progression for the franchise," said Pascale Vermeerbergen, European marketing director at Infogrames. "V-Rally 3 has its own distinctive identity and is a great way to introduce this legendary racing brand onto the GameCube console."

V-Rally 3 for the GameCube is currently scheduled for release in North America on March 25 and in Europe in June. An Xbox version of the game will also be released in Europe in April, although a North American release has not been confirmed at this time.
