Midway announces Dr. Muto
The Doctor is in on next-generation consoles.
Midway released the first conceptual image for its upcoming game, Dr. Muto. A platformer starring the aforementioned character, the game follows the maniacal scientist as he attempts to rebuild his home planet after accidentally destroying it. To pull off the repairs he must steal resources from neighboring planets. The game will offer a variety of environments to explore, including Totltec, a citylike environment; Aquem, an underwater world; and Mazon, a jungle.
To aid him in his work, Dr. Muto wields the splizz gun, an invention of his own design that lets him morph into different creatures. Over the course of the game, players can discover the blueprints to create an additional 15 inventions. Currently in development for next-generation consoles, Dr. Muto is slated to be released sometime in 2002.
