Discover the waterside town of Riverspring in this trailer for Game of Thrones.
I despise strongly with a biting bitterness anyone who dismisses this as a mediocre at best title. This will shock many. This will be great. Stop judging this title from failures by PC in the past. Look beyond your prejudice and try to see how great of potential this title has. Read the book. Read the review by game informer (the month issue with AC3 art on front cover). Then come back and tell me this is still doomed to be mediocre. I will tell you you're nuts and you know nothing of innovational RPG's. Think Valkyrie Chronicles greatness, or even tactics ogre at its time. -- Please if you have nothing at all to say good about this title then stop slandering it. Stop being so negative.
riverspring as well as another area, that I will force you to go to gamestop and read about, will be featured as two brand new areas that aren't featured in the book or the popular series. these two areas should prove to be just as awesome as some of the others such as the wall and king's landing. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. Im looking at getting this or Dragon's Dogma for a graduation gift... cept I dont like open worlds like Skyrim.. Perhaps Im leaning more towards GoT, but Dragon's Dogma does look amazing. Which should I get?
I have never seen a mention of Riverspring in the Books.. so wtf?
This is the same company that has previously released GOT games for the PC. While those were different games in a different genre (RTS), they all received terrible review scores, even from fans of the books and series.
Game of Thrones / Song of Ice and Fire SHOULD make an excellent RPG. It's got the perfect story structure - a large scale main story arc punctuated with lots of smaller episodes. It also has a rich history, which extends beyond the scope of the show / novels. Finally, it has a lot of great characters and fascinating locations. That said, it looks like this is going to be a mediocre title. While the backgrounds look good (albeit generic), the character models look terrible, and unexpressive, comparable to Oblivion - a six year old, first generation title. Unacceptable this late in the system's life, especially for a property so heavily rooted in character. Like many LOTR games, the plot has you cast as a no-name, and will probably not play decisive roles in the established plot. This usually results in a generic story, with occasional encounters with familiar characters, and cursory involvement in familiar events.
u can easily tell from the trailer that this game will be a fail :)
This looks like a generic RPG to me.
Series and Books = Awesome. Game so far = Very Meh .(
What the hell? That is the worst voice-over ever! I love GoT/Song of Fire and Ice, but I don't have high hopes for this title.
lol THAT was a trailer? It sounded like a segment from Dr. Phil. Please watch the show and read the book series instead.
....dude....these f-ing commercials are killng me
What an odd trailer, and a strange way to try and get people following this game. It's gonna take a lot to sell this game to me. Fingers crossed there's better to come.
Surely this would get just as much attention if it was labeled as the series name: "A song of Ice and Fire." Which is what it should be under since it is running along side the story!
From what I understand this game is a simple hack 'N slash title masquerading as a RPG. The previous trailer hinted at an openworld to explore and this pretty much being like Skyrim. But so far interviews seem to admit it is a liniear game with cutscenes leading you up to more fighting, you can level up but nothing too fancy. This looks to be as poor of a RPG to a fantasy serie as most action games are to superhero movies. Just another license game to quickly cash-in on the succes of the serie. GoT/Ice & Fire deserves better than that. It deserves a game that translates its universe into gameplay. Something like Mount & Blade where you actually play ' the game of thrones' through politics and warfare. A RPG where you're able to rise in rank in one of the great houses and than are ale to compete for the throne would be a must-buy game for a GoT fan like myself. An action game with RPG elements set in the GoT universe is not.
Doesn't look good, but i'm a big fan of the series so I still might buy this
Maybe has potential to be a Witcher
That was surprisingly boring.
