This year's E3 showed that, while 2015 is a strong year already, some of the most interesting games on the horizon won't arrive until next year. So to save you the trouble of having to track them all down yourself, here's a gallery with every game confirmed for 2016 from the show.
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon: Zero Dawn is the newest IP by Killzone creators Guerrilla Games. It pits a heroine archer named Aloy against a variety of robotic dinosaur-like creatures. Think Monster Hunter with a twist of Tomb Raider. This project marks new territory for Guerrilla Games as it's the studio's first attempt at an open world action-RPG. | Platforms: PS4
The Last Guardian
After waiting nearly six years, The Last Guardian finally has a projected release date set for 2016. For those unaware, The Last Guardian is an action puzzle game directed by Team Ico, a studio known for their work on games like Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. | Platforms: PS4
Doom
Doom, previously titled Doom 4, is an upcoming reboot of the famous first-person shooter franchise developed by id Software. From what we've seen, it looks to embody everything that you remember from the series, like demons, big guns, and a whole lot of gore. | Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the direct sequel to 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It once again puts you in control of Adam Jensen, who is now working with an international coalition to halt the rising threat of terrorist attacks in the city of Prague. Mass Effect: Andromeda
Mass Effect Andromeda is the next big entry in the Mass Effect series. It takes place long after the events of the original Mass Effect trilogy in a new galaxy called Andromeda. It be will releasing in Q4 of 2016. | Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is an upcoming first-person open world action game where the main focus is swift parkhour gameplay. Despite being the second game in the series, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is more of an origin story of the series' main protagonist, Faith Connors. For Honor
If Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Dynasty Warriors somehow combined into a single game, then you will probably get Ubisoft Montreal's newest IP called For Honor. The game lets you duke it out as vikings, knights, and samurai against other players in large-scale battles. | Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is looking to finally bring the series' signature action set pieces into the next generation. Taking place three years after the end of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the game is going to be a conclusion to Nathan Drake's story. It is expected to launch sometime in Spring 2016. | Platforms: PS4
Dark Souls III
Dark Souls III is the newest entry in the critically acclaimed Souls series developed by From Software. Returning again to lead its development is veteran series director Hidetaka Miyazaki, who previously directed both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. World of Final Fantasy
World of Final Fantasy is a new series in the Final Fantasy franchise that aims to offer a new experience that will appeal to all ages. The game's story revolves around two siblings who find themselves thrown into a world called Grimoire. It will mainly focus on their adventures and their encounters with classic Final Fantasy series characters, such as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. | Platforms: PS4, PS Vita
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is the fifth main entry in the Star Ocean series. Taking place between the events of the second and third game, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is once again being developed by longtime series developer tri-Ace. | Platforms: PS4
Dishonored 2
Dishonored 2 is the upcoming sequel of the action adventure stealth game of the same name developed by Arkane Studios. It takes place 15 years after the previous, and puts you in control of Emily Kaldwin or her protector Corvo Attano as they try to reclaim the Kaldwin family throne. Project Setsuna
Project Setsuna is the codename of a new game by Tokyo RPG Factory, a studio that was formed by Square Enix to develop new RPGs. Aside from some concept art, details about the game are fairly scare. The game is currently in development and is expected to launch sometime in 2016. | Platforms: TBA
Gears of War 4
Gears of War is finally returning with its fourth main entry. Unlike previous games in the series, which have been developed by Epic Games, Gears of War 4 will instead be developed by The Coalition. The game is scheduled to release in Q4 of 2016. | Platforms: Xbox One
Planet Coaster
Planet Coaster is a new amusement park simulation game by Frontier, the developers of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Announced during the PC Gamer Show at E3 2015, the game is looking to revisit and revive the core concepts in past games of its genre. | Platforms: PC
Tom Clancy's The Division
First announced during E3 2013, Tom Clancy's Division is an upcoming open world third-person shooter developed by Ubisoft. It takes place in a version of New York City that has had its infrastructure collapse in five days after a deadly virus is set loose on Black Friday. Homefront: The Revolution
Homefront: The Revolution is the sequel to THQ's Homefront from 2011. Unlike the latter's more linear gameplay experience, Homefront: The Revolution will be an open world game set in the city of Philadelphia. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is a crossover between the Mario & Luigi series and the Paper Mario series. Featuring the trademark RPG gameplay seen in both properties, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam looks to be offering the best of both worlds in its charm and humor. | Platforms: 3DS
Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a co-operative multiplayer Metroid Prime spin-off that puts you in control of Galactic Federation soldiers. The Legend of Zelda Wii U
The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U is the first game in the series to feature open world gameplay. Nintendo initially planned to release the game in 2015, but it was instead delayed to sometime in 2016. | Platforms: Wii U
Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 is the upcoming sequel to Dead Island from 2011. It will be the first game in the series developed by Yager, the studio behind Spec Ops: The Line, and will take place in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and an undisclosed third location in California. | Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Hellblade
Hellblade is the newest IP by Ninja Theory, the creators of Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. It puts you in control of a warrior named Senua as she embarks on a journey through a nightmarish underworld filled with manifestations from her own psychotic mind. | Platforms: PS4, PC
Street Fighter V
Capcom's famous Street Fighter series is finally getting its newest iteration in the form of Street Fighter V. The big new feature in this one is the V-Gauge, which gives fighters unique attack skills, counters, and abilities as the gauge builds up. | Platforms: PS4, PC
Quantum Break
This third-person shooter about time-manipulation is the newest game by Remedy Entertainment, the creators of Max Payne and Alan Wake. Set in the fictional university town of Riverport, the game's story revolves around three individuals whose lives are thrown into disarray after a time travel experiment goes horribly wrong. | Platforms: Xbox One, PC
