Come Early or Don't Come at All

Galaxy Online had some great promise, but unfortunately if you don't get on a server within the first week you might as well stay away. Even then there is not much to do and only a small percentage of players who really DO anything. I have been playing since day 2 of the first server and even I find the game nothing more than a casual go back once in awhile game currently.

Is promoted as free, but unless you have hours to mindlessly click on buttons every few minutes and don't mind being severely handicapped by paying players stay away, you can easily spend $20 a month for some basics and won't compete in free mode.

They don't follow their own rules, to easy to cheat and lax security. You are suppose to be able to have only 2 accounts, but this is not enforced and openly admitted with several very powerful players having multiple accounts and causing severe overbalance and causing players to leave that can't compete with way more than 2 alts. Several players also have had their accounts taken over by a simple file that IGG left on forums(supposedly fixed) and other hacks have led to players gaining access to advanced ships before they should have been accessible, again leading to more imbalance. it is fairly to cheat in the game, but again harder to do it unless you are spending money as well and have lots of time to spend on the various alts....but is done enough to throw the game off kilter with little to nothing done about it.

Nothing to do. If you like to build ships and have nothing to do with them or sit around waiting for your production buildings to make resources to build ships to sit around this game is for you. The depth of the game is very limited currently with no real PVP, no PVE except for a small minority of the highest level players and a lack of real substance in the recent releases except to make it more and more a pay site.

For those of you wondering why I continue to play if it is so bad it is simple, I got on a server early and spend some money to play. Unless the game play improves dramatically in the next few weeks I will be leaving as soon as the points I bought for upgraded play is gone.

It does have some possibilities as if you do go to war against other players you can lose your system and all you have spent weeks building so there is a risk factor for some, talked about future enhancements that may open game play a bit more and the ability to find others online. These are the pluses/possible pluses, but until they expand the game play beyond click and wait I would look to play a more fleshed out game such as EVE and stay away from IGG in general.

So if you try the game out and get on a new server the first few days good luck, if you don't move along...nothing to see here.
