E3 2008: Galaga Legions Impressions

Classic arcade shooter Galaga to get a face lift and Xbox Live Arcade rebirth.
Retro is in. At its E3 2008 press conference, Microsoft today announced that much-loved arcade sci-fi shooter Galaga is getting a makeover and will be coming exclusively to Xbox Live Arcade this year.
Pac-Man CE developer Namco Bandai is behind the reinvention, and from the short amount of gameplay shown off at the event, it appears to be just as frantic as gamers have come to expect from the title. It also appears to feature some similar artistic flourishes to the recently released Space Invaders Extreme.
No price or launch time frame was given for the game's release.

Developers have found a gold mine in XBLA and they are going to make hay till the sun shines. Good for us.
Am I the only who thought there was just to much going on the screen at one time? I mean, I liked the ship design, and the way your satallite ships can be set to shoot in opposite directions is nice, but what's with all the extra "pinstiping?" It makes an already full screen look, much to cluttered. In a game with that much going on, I really don't need the extra lines to distract me. Again, my opinion only, and if you like all the extra effects, then good for you.
Never heard of this game.
This is just AWESOME. Can't wait to get my hands on this game... this summer... hope it's next week.
XBLA has games similar, I agree. It's a game worth trying tho

It looked pretty cool. But Xbox Live Arcade already has a lot of similar games...
Microsoft is making a lot "minigames" now. It is Namco Bandai that makes this game, not Microsoft...
I may play a demo, it looked decent. Galaga is fun, even if it is difficult.

Doesn't seem to be true to the original. Seems they've just slapped the name on something totally different.
I loved Galaga, I hope this one's even better!
