In my opinion Gabriel Knight 1 is one of the greatest adventures of all time. For sure it is the one with best story which totally gets you. Of course the low resolution graphics are dated but still they are very well painted. The music is awesome. Ive listened to the the soundtrack so many times, it is the best soundtrack ever! The development of the characters and the story is perfect. Same for the voice acting which is no surprise because the actors are professionals. I guess the only adventures which fascinated nearly as much as GK1 is the Longest Journey.
