Great for kids, but the MCF series is still much better.

For those of you who've played the Mystery Case Files series, you would notice the differences after a stage. There's a share of outdoor and indoor locations in G.H.O.S.T. hunters and they all share the same renaissance and vintage look to it. These locations are actually interesting at first where you can spot some strangely familiar antiques and painting decorations throughout. But again, the map still seems a little easier and less detailed than the MCF series, which you may get bored sooner. Also, the number of hints are quite generous, which makes for a lesser challenge too, but it's quite well conceived using a sonic detector style (which in this case is a paranormal detector, cute) rather than plainly giving you a in-your-face glow of the item.

The stage-to-stage progression isn't very interesting as it lacked mini games variety like in the MCF series, but it has a cool endgame stage where there's some twist in the way you solve the case with a tighter countdown timer. Other than that, everything else is quite uneventful. The music, or rather ambient is a minimalist approach with occasional door slams and water drips here and there.

Overall, it's actually not bad for kids, but for those who've enjoyed the Mystery Case Files series, you've been warned.
