A short, yet fun package.

User Rating: 6.5 | Full Auto 2: Battlelines PSP
I got the Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron PSP Entertainment Pack for Christmas, and got 6 other games besides Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (The Sims 2 Pets, Pursuit Force, 007: From Russia With Love, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, Harvest Moon Boy & Girl and this one, Full Auto 2: Battlelines).

So, to start my review off, Full Auto 2: Battlelines is a car combat game that has some simple, yet somewhat uncomfortable controls and a very unorganized career mode. It's idea of "career mode" is to have a race that gives you very simple objectives and try to add a backstory to it...and surprisingly it works, only because you won't even pay attention to the story at all.

With a hazardous-themed menu, some stylish graphics, and simple controls, Full Auto 2: Battlelines offers a great presentation. The lack of online multiplayer, a REAL career mode and more cars degrades the score a bit.

PRESENTATION: 7/10

The bright graphics give a nice sense of speed while your driving. They look nice, but overall aren't anything special for the PSP.

GRAPHICS: 7.5/10

The sound category offers some explosions, and some music. Basic, and bland. But what else do you expect from a car game? A lot of them have licensed sound tracks, this happens to be my least favorite licensed soundtrack. The simple special effects hurt it more than the sense of music, because the PSP could offer so much more.

SOUND: 6/10

The game offers simple controls, a career mode, and multiplayer. Well, after a while the controls become uncomfortable, the career mode is short and bland, and there is no online multiplayer. But the game is very fast-paced and fun while it lasts.

GAMEPLAY: 7/10

The game will not last you long at all because of it's VERY short career mode, and lack of online multiplayer. If a sequel arrived that fixed these problems, maybe I would pick it up. Maybe.

LASTING APPEAL: 6/10

The game is very fun, but is short and simple. It is also unoriginal. Twisted Metal, and even Mario Kart have entered the car combat genre, so it's nothing new. But if you're looking for plain, simple fun, this game is it. Just don't expect it to last long.
