Great and fun idea, but the game needs some tweaking...

Fuel broke the record for largest game map ever in a game, and boy is it large!! They have a decent vehicle selection and a variety of race types, terrain and weather. I like to free roam around on the 14000km2 map and do things like rock crawl, hill climbing, jumping off ramps or even take the hovercraft across the lakes, All this is great, the game is pretty fun to play but it lacks a bit. The physics are pretty bad; when your on a hill with a atv or bike you cant stay in one spot, you will just slide off, even with the brakes on (and the hills dont have to be steep either). Monster trucks have problems driving over a log in the grass and if they hit a little tree going 100km/h+ they smash into it as if its a steel beam cemented 20 feet into the ground. The sound....heh, lets just say the people that took care of designing the sound were really lazy and had no idea what they were doing. Every time the bikes go over a bump or even jump, the game always plays the same sound, which sounds like metal hitting metal or better put, the bike suspension bottoming out. Same sound effect over and over. The sounds of 3/4 of the vehicles engines sound dull, the monster trucks sound like a electric lawnmower or fan, and the muscle cars dont sound like muscle cars at all. The atvs sound horrible. Why is it that cars have exhaust pipes coming out from under the doors and from the under the bumper on the same car????!! I never saw a car with both, these designers from ASOBO really need to do research before making automotive games. Also the game only has an option for auto transmission, so when the computer shifts, it shifts really really late, ill be bouncing off the rev limiter for a good while before it decides to shift gears for me......and by then all the a.i. passed me and im in last place :( . If they would have used the Motorstorm engine and vegetation / graphics with the map and gameplay/races of FUEL, this game would have been untouchable.

All in all i still like to play this game, its a little of a let down but hey!
