I bought this game for cheap on Steam and it hasn't disappointed me, it's been worth the money I paid and then some. If you're tired of cod and it's clones, here's your breath of fresh air. (The game this one most resembles would be BF, read on to find out why).*

As you can see, low requirements. I ran it without a single problem on the following system: i7-930, 1TB Hard drive, 6GB RAM, Windows7 64 SP1, 24" Flat Panel(1920x1080), etc. I have screenshots in my profile in the "Images" section in the album entitled "ScreenShots". Shocker lol.

The game does support 1920x1080 resolutions. It ran fine for me, no lagging (but I didn't play online mp, I played sp). The game offers modes: Single Player, LAN, Online MultiPlayer. In single player your squad is computer controlled AI and they do well. Enemy AI will school you if you're not careful or not expecting much from them and they're good at taking away your cover so you have to bolt and find more before they take you out, yes, I'm referring to 'destructible environments'. This game has quite the variety of vehicles to drive, weapons to use, and drones to use to flush out heavily dug in enemies or hidden enemies. You can drive turreted vehicles, tanks, helicopters, etc., you can choose character loadouts and switch them, when capturing a control point or town, you fight to seize and 'keep' control points, but can lose them and have to recapture them. Sometimes you have to fight your way into a building to download data, hack door locks, rescue, call in air support, fight in tank vs. tank battles (2 people can occupy tanks, sometimes an AI teammate will jump in your tank with you), set up turrets to defend your position when you and your team are out numbered and out gunned. It offers a lot of variety, I'd say that's one of it's strongest points.

There is also bonus content included, it will ask for codes in the bonus section of the menu, the codes are sp-village and sp-street.

You play as a member of the Stray Dogs. You're on the side of the Western Coalition (which includes N.America and most of Europe with allies like India, Japan, Pakistan), the opposition is The Red Star mainly consisting of Russia and China. As the title implies, the fight is over resources, but not just for the sake of the resources but whoever controls the resources basically will have the power to control everything/one else. Don't lose sight of that. Power shortages in the world have brought out the worst in people and there are riots and bread lines and people on the edge. That's the setting, in the not too distant future. I'll leave the rest for you to discover to keep this spoiler free :).

Currently, this game is $19.99 on Steam and I know I got more enjoyment out of it than that. Occassionally it will go on sale or the 'daily deal' on Steam (new deal/sale everyday, then there's midweek madness, and of course the weekend sales- if you're not on Steam, you're paying too much and missing out on a lot! Check them out some time www.steampowered.com). I don't know how it was on release, but the game was bug free for me and ran without incident. Enjoy the single player or LAN with a friend or try a mp, though mp I hear is spotty this many years after release.

Don't forget to check my Album here on gamespot for Frontlines: Fuel of War (FOW) screenshots, there are also a couple videos on Steam in the games store page. Enjoy!
