Simply Fantasic!

User Rating: 9.5 | Front Mission: The First DS
Graphics:
The graphics in Front Mission are close to many DS games but it's the art style that really shinns. The Wanzers (mechs) look really good and all the peices are different and fit well into the game universe. Battle animations are well done and look really cool, sort of like watching an anime mech battle. Character models are also very good and each character is destinct.

Sound:
Music's not bad, not the next Motzart mind you, but all in all pretty reasonable. Sound effects are really good as well, nothings over done or under done, and each effect matches its weapon well. Game Play:
The game play is deffentatly fun and addictive. The level layouts, stats systems, weapon types, skills, battles, arena, and combat in general are all really well done. The AI is really solid but does have a few predictable behaivours, though it still puts up a solid challange. The menus and commands make it a breeze to issue orders so it's never a chore. Story:
Though not shakespear, Front Mission's story has a certin charm and does a really good job of moving the missions on and sets a good pace. Most of the characters are the kind you remember when you see the game and not HK47 memorable characters, Though Keith is a really cool and funny character with some really great lines. Value:
For $45 CDN you get a strong singleplayer game with quality story, game play, controls and the option to duel your friends when you've finished the game. I would defenantly recommend this game.

Controls:
A simple intuitve interface that is easy and fast to learn, but full of depth makes for an amazing time. The quick but powerful menus let you quickly pick your commands for squad members so you can move on to the next member. With your cursor you can check your squad and enemy squad's stats quickly making it easy to pick who tackles who. The who interfaces works in pure harmony making an amazing experiance.
