From Russia With Love is an ok game but not over the top.

James Bond From Russia with Love is based on the 1963 Bond film by the same name. The plot follows the films plot to a very limited extent though and is different in almost every single way. While this difference is ok it doesn't really serve any purpose but to take the film in a different direction and in doing so it loses that special thing that made the film a classic in the first place. However if you've never seen the film then players can still play the game and get the general gist of what happens but I highly recommend that players see the film as it's better than the game by a long shot.

From Russia with Love's graphics are ok but don't stand out that much. Characters have a good amount detail and depth for their faces but that's one of the few high points. Locations, cars and even the guns lack depth and don't stand out that much nor do they look as they should to an extent. This lack of depth makes seem 2Dish at times and not look or stand out as they should.

From Russia with Love's gameplay is pretty solid for the most part but it does have its flaws. At the heart of From Russia with Love is very solid third person shooter that works well. All of the games guns match the theme of the 1960's very well and don't seem out of place at all. However the gameplays' main downfall is the driving portions. Controls in these sequences are best described as to twitchy and out of place. The cars drive great in a straight line but when players start doing high speed turns is when things get hairy. For example players may turn a corner sharply and then start heading off in the direction they were turning. So they counter steer to correct the problem only in doing so it makes the car turn sharply in the other direction so they have to repeatedly counter steer till the car stops wobbling all over the place. This issue takes the main fun out of the driving portions of the gameplay and makes the driving portions a bit of a chore to do.

From Russia with Love's audio is ok but not perfect. All of the characters sound great and it even feels like they managed to get together the original cast that did the film, aside from Desmond Llewellyn as he's dead, to voice their digital counter parts. What's even better is that these characters interact with the two new bond girls very well and Sean Connery even did the voice for James Bond himself which is a real nice touch. However the downfall in the audio is the weapon sound effects. Almost all of the guns don't sound as they should and sound really out of place.

Overall James Bond From Russia with Love is not a bad game nor is it a very good game. Players may want to rent this title before hand to decide if this is a game that they really want in their collection.
