A pretty good game, all things considering.

User Rating: 10 | Frogger's Journey: The Forgotten Relic GBA
The Game Boy Advance, as a video game system, was a very good video game system, that had many very good video games that came out for it. In fact, from 2001 through 2008, so many great games came out for the system, that it's taken me all the way until now to finish playing all the games that I wanted to play from that system, on my Nintendo DS. As of such, there were inevitably quite a few games that have eluded me due to availability when they were originally released; but now I can safely say, the time that it's taken me to track down and find all these various games I have reviewed, have been well spent. "Frogger," was one of the very first original Arcade stars of the early 1980's. It took the simple premise of hopping and jumping from one place to another, and turned it into a challenging concept of avoiding vehicles, various animal hazards, jumping on moving floating logs, all to prove that a frog's life is not as easy as it might initially appear to be. Now the simple character of Frogger, has risen from his humble beginnings as a seemingly ordinary frog in the 20th century, to becoming a complex character with family and friends in the 21st century. Frogger is a heroic adventurer who will always come to the defense of those who need him, and right wrongs where ever there are wrong-doers committing crimes. This game has Frogger journeying from his home of Lilly Pad Swamp to the mysterious, bustling town of Kabohti, to visit his Grandpa, an Archaeologist searching for ancient relics in order to explain how the "Ancients" (Anthropomorphic Animal Creatures) lived in times long since past. But when Frogger gets there, his Grandpa is nowhere to be found! Just west of town, the dig site that his Grandpa had been exploring, is mysteriously deserted, but Frogger does find a mysterious relic. A local scientist/mechanical engineer named Dusty reveals it to be a special machine called OPART, capable of performing many various tasks to aid and help whoever wears it, to be capable of doing things that they aren't able to do normally. I won't say how or where, but eventually, the OPART enables Frogger to jump long distances, grab objects from far away, light up dark places, slow down time, break down certain barriers, push certain blocks, swim underwater, hook-shot onto hook-able objects to get Frogger to places he couldn't reach otherwise, and both shield and reflect certain deadly projectiles back at his attackers. Frogger will need to use all of these skills to find his Grandpa, and figure out why a certain Weasel by the name of Eric Von Viesel, wants to stop Frogger's journeying ways by any means necessary! There are quite a few unique locations. There are two different cave locations, two river locations, a Pyramid that's divided into two locations, a Ninja Temple that's divided into two locations, a Temple, an underwater ruin location, and a Mansion that's divided into two locations. The controls are easy to learn, but the strategies to eluding all the deadly enemies and traps in order to reach each locations exit point/goal are what make this game challenging! :D Fortunately, the game isn't too hard to master, so this is a good gem of a game that shouldn't be missed out. 8) I highly enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it for people looking for a somewhat challenging, but fun time with a real icon of video game playing. Enough said, true believers! ;)
