Congratulations to Konami for bringing a bunch of their old franchises onto the Xbox Live 360 arcade. The first to hit the arcade is frogger. This is an arcade perfect translation with a bunch of extra options that add fun to an already classic and great game! Best of all is the price: $5.00. I mean at five dollars a game you could download 12 arcade games that you like for the price of one Xbox 360 game at retail price!
Frogger aka "That Little Green Frog Dude Sure Is A Sissy" Has Been around for about 25 years now, In Melbourne i used to play Frogger on the arcade machine, It cost 40 Cents, the amount of coins it ate off my was amazing I have easily spent over $35 on it.
So While I was scrolling through the Xbox Live Arcade List I Noticed This!!!!!!
So I Brought It For A Nice 400 Points!!!!!!!!!!
Gameplay : Same old classic gameplay from the original arcade. Thrown into this version is two player games as well as speed matches through Xbox live and leaderboards. There may be some small little differences between control and gameplay, but it was too long ago for me to remember fully. The control seems smooth enough, though at times maybe just a little too sensitive. But with all the gameplay intact and extra modes what more could we ask for without altering the classic gameplay?
Graphics : Ok these are just slightly updated graphics from the original arcade game. I am giving them the score I am only because most of us that pumped a lot of money into the arcade game would not want a major change here. We do not want 3D frogs or anything like that. The images look clear and sharp enough on my high definition TV to make me satisfied. Any major changes here and it just wouldn't feel like Frogger.
Sound : Nothing special here really. Just your normal bips and squeeks from the old arcade game as well as classic basic upbeat songs that you very well may end up switching with your own soundtrack. Again for those not looking for major change it's a good thing. Now this is where the game shines. You can always go back and try to topple your high score. You can play to your heart's content to climb the leaderboards to claim your fame as the best Frogger player ever. You can play two player games. And to top it all off you can play speed matches on Xbox live! Wow.
All in all for five dollars you cannot go wrong here. A great classic game with great options. Go download it now!!!!!!!!!!!
