Fragile Dreams might please those who are more interested in the story and atmosphere rather than the gameplay.

I knew this game did not have very high ratings but it did not stop me from wanting to buy and play this game for its eerie atmosphere. I wasn't disappointed of the game, but I wouldn't put this game at the same level as Okami either. Nevertheless, it was quite a unique experience.

The game starts with a boy, Seto, who finds himself alone in a post-apocalyptic Japan. Then, he finds a blond girl but lost track of her. So his goal is simple : find the girl.

The game is more an adventure game than a RPG. After beating an enemy you gain experience points to level up. That is pretty much the only RPG element in the game. It's more an exploring adventure game. You'll find yourself often looking for keys to enter another place. The game doesn't have interesting puzzles like the Resident Evil series. In overall, there isn't anything really interesting about the gameplay.

Despite the gameplay, what prevents Fragile Dreams to be a bad game is the storyline, characters and atmosphere. The game is dark but cute. The characters' faces are very well done, which is good since the character design are beautiful. The storyline is touching. During his search for the girl, Seto finds out other characters, develop a relationship with them. Even after finding other people, Seto always seem to find himself alone again.

In overall, this game was unique in its atmosphere. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't suggest this game to everyone. If you're looking for a game with an interesting storyline rather than the gameplay, you should try this game out.
