Fun for a while, until you realize that you've been doing the same thing over and over again since the beginning.

Fossil Fighters is a pretty ambitious Pokemon-esque game. The main objective is to dig up fossils and then revive them to obtain your own dinosaurs. You then use them to battle other people on the island.

The graphics is rather bad, at least in terms of character design. I don't know if they were intentionally designed that way, but the characters could definitely use more details all around. The environments look ok though.

I don't even remember what the game sounds like, so that says a lot about the music.

Gameplay is pretty unique in that you must first go dig around for fossils before you can do anything. After you come back from the fields with a whole bunch of them, you can proceed to clean them up so they can be ready for revival. After they are revived, you can choose to put them in your dinosaur team or not, and then head out again to dig up more fossils. Rinse and repeat. That's is pretty much the whole flow of the game.

It quickly gets tiring, but thankfully the cleaning process is fun and challenging enough to save the game from utter boredom. Basically, you have a piece of rock, and you are supposed to hammer and drill away the rocky bits without damaging the bones. It's easy at first but it can quickly become challenging. One thing about drilling I didn't like though, is that the sound reminds me very much of going to the dentist's...

Another thing to note is that money is very tedious to get in the game. If you are planning to buy all the upgrades in the game, it WILL take you a while.

On a final note, Fossil Fighters is an ambitious game that's not quite there. The repetitive nature of the game makes it very hard to play it until the end (which I did not). Just get a Pokemon game or something.
