Except if you are still playing 3 you won't have any reason to buy this one because it is exactly the same and you just have less cars. Unless you pay the price of a second game to download them all off of the Marketplace.

Justin Calvert heats up his brakes as he speeds around Forza Mortorsport 4 in this video review.
oh forza...what have you done? instead of forza five, we get horizons. no thanks. its all fast n furious, club like now instead of what it should be. no gimmicks racing. i swear forza 4 was the most complete racing game i have ever played. which i still play. it saddens me to know that there will be no more DLC for forza 4.
considering how forza 4 seems to similar to number 3 I skipped it, i shall await forza 5 :)
2:58 That was some really, really bad damage modelling, still a good game though
This should have been a bigger launch. I mean, its the best racing game I have ever played, but its not much better than Forza 3. But I never owned 3, so OK.
@mr_freeze9 Yes the game utilizes Kinect technology to drive the car, though it's simplified so it's not great for competitive driving. The other thing that it does is you can explore a car in Autovista with the Kinect, which is IMO the best thing kinect does in this game.
@mr_freeze9 yes, but you can't accelarate. The game accelarate and brakes for you. You only control the left and right turn. But don't stop you from buying it. Its nice addition for my little causin, he enjoys it. But if I'm playing, I pull out my highspeed fanatec belt driven force feedback CSR wheel.
forza 5 might have a weather addition... all sim games need this... it needs to be variable, including wind.. then i might get off battlefield for a go!!!
This game only game out last month?? I thought it was something of last year or so... Anyway, Codemasters does it better... :P
I'm not big on car racing games, but this does pick my interest. The 8.5 score IS a slight deterrant though, but I will take that for what it is...it's the same as the previous, higher scored game...just a modern version. It should have been rated on it's own merits and not a comparison.
Fantastic game. I rated it a 9.0. I like NFS and GT, but Forza is where it's at for me as far as racing games are concerned.
Seems like Justin got the score spot-on, in my opinion. A fine game, but they got their priorities a bit wrong.
I havent got the game yet because my girl friend wont let me spend any money on games before christmas lol. However even though i havent played it yet it looks amazing but i agree with gamespots score in this one and yes im a big fan of forza 3. just for the simple fact theres only 4 new race tracks but im loveing the looks of the new graphics and the mini games. i guese im gonna have to ask santa for this one aka my gf lol =)
For the record Gamespot IGN gave it a 9.5 and its worth 9.5. Even driving a basic cheap car feels amazing! http://au.xbox360.ign.com/objects/077/077615.html
This game absolutely deserves a higher score, just the amount of content and replay value is worth a 9.0. Rivals mode is one of the best additions to Forza 4, hours can be spent in Rivals mode, it's dangerously addicting. Surprisingly the Soccer mode is fun too, who would have thought, I got into a few big games and really enjoyed it.
This is one of my favorite Racing Simulator games and they should have rated this a 9.0 but it does feel a little like forza 3 as well as a majority of the the tracks iv already raced on last year but i still enjoy this game especially with the New Cars and new competition How can you Not Buy this.
@Veronsherner I agree. It has more cars, few more tracks and better graphics but a lower score.
Does Gamespot know how to give scores lower than 8.5 for hyped up, half-assed sequels? You shouldn't reward complacence. They didn't even attempt to include weather effects during the races, and it seems they're banking on diehard fans buying overpriced DLC.
i think that forza 3 older s and more people do it,but in 00:40 you see what the different is.
he says forza 4 is even better than forza 3 then whyyyy isn't it better rated? I cant understand
What about people who either didn't play 3 or haven't played any in the series? Does it still deserve to be rated lower then the previous? I understand there is not much new as far as content, but if the gameplay and graphics are improved it should still be rated high like 2 and 3 were. This just throws off 1st time players. But if you own 3 then yea don?t bother with it. Just skip every other one like me (unless there?s a drastic change). I played 1 and 2. Then I skipped on 3.
If they had to give a very high grade for all popular games and if our own evalutions were all that matters, then there would be no need for these technical reviews. They have to cover all the details of the game technically while we look at it emotionally. I think every player should think it's an absurd if you have to pay $60 for a "new" game that has more than 50% of the content released in the previous version (and that you already payed for). If you think that there isn't too much innovation that they could bring out of the previous version, if you're happy with Forza 3, why you need the 4? They had 2 years to impress us. Gran Turismo had 5 years. Is that the best they can give to us? However, this is a prove they are both extremely great, fantastic games, otherwise Gamespot would certainly give them an even lower grade. Let's think less as if we were fans supporting our teams, they're not giving us these games for free.
What I take issue with is the fact that it essentially gives this a lower score than Forza 3 (9.5) and Forza 2 (9.2) when lets be fair the 2 games were 2 years apart and Forza 3 didn't add a massive number of cars or tracks but more improved upon the formula a bit and added a sleek new interface. Along comes Forza 4, 2 years later, which adds yet more new cars and tracks, improved graphics, a sleek new interface, and improved physics and a whole host of new features and game modes upon Forza 3 and it gets a lower score. How can this be even remotely logical? Is the reviewer saying that being similar to the last game is worth -1 point? In that case sports franchises should be in negative figures by now. To be fair though it's one reviewers opinion and it wont affect my enjoyment of the game.
Forza= me raping the hell out of it just like Forza 3! I cannot wait until the 14th of this month!!!!!!
I actually think this is a fair review. They seemed to prioritize the Kinect implementation (with the interactive showroom and stuff) over adding more tracks. I LOVE Forza 3, but I HATE the limited amount of tracks on that game. Forza 4 keeps most of those tracks and adds only 5? I'd rather have half the cars and no Kinect interactivity with more new tracks. It's not a bad game though. In fact, as far as I'm concerned the Forza series is the premiere racing sim on the market. The simulation is great, the cars handle wonderfully, and I love the crazy amount of customization you can do with the "assist" features. I can turn most of them off for a real sim experience, and my lesser-skilled friends/family can still enjoy the game when they come over by simply turning on what they need. That's why the 8.5 seems fair to me. A top-of-the-line racing sim deserves a high score, but a lack of new "meaningful" features knocks it down a bit. Ignore the number and listen/read the actual review. @alexander_ka Don't let that fool you. This is a great sim, and all of the assist features can be turned off if you want. Add a quality racing wheel/pedals and set the camera in-car and it's as close to really racing as one can get. All said though, I'm going to wait on this. Forza 3 is still entertaining to me, and with the lack of new tracks I'd essentially be starting 3 over. A few new bells and whistles, to me, don't justify the $64 price tag. I'll certainly get it later when it's $25 used.
I also think game reviewers like the ones on GS are making games look more disappointing than they really. In 2011 alone, I've almost ended up rating up every game at least a .5 or 1 point above most of the major game websites' scores.
Another GS 8.5. It's like they want to be known as G8me5pot. Mmmhmm. G8me5pot and 9GN. Hail!
@russ_lick icwutudidthar Ahem, anyways, this game looks great. But an 8.5? Really GS? Again? Way too many 8.5's GS, there's something wrong here...
Does this game actually teach you to drift or do I just ignore this mode for another year? :(
... I'll wait another 2 years to see how Forza 5 does on the new Xbox console in 2 more years. YES its improved but $60.00 dollars worth of improvements...
I think you need new staff ! :) (gs fail this time) Absolutely this is the best game in the market!
I have to agree with Egotte's comments with regards to Grand Tourismo 5. I too used to fall asleep at that frustrating game. It's such a disappointment and waste of money (and I'm somewhat of a PS3 fanboy, although I have both systems). However I love Forza and am still playing 2 & 3. Will be getting this closer to Christmas. Petrol heads out there should also try Sinbin Race series of simulations on the PC. I recently purchased a G27 and its racing bliss on Sinbin's games. With all the aids off and on pro level, I'm struggling to finish in the top ten. Love the challenge!
