With forza 3 released, does this title overthrow its predecessor..

The Forza series have been Microsofts answer to the exclusivly Gran Turismo series for the Playstation. But instead of doing a cheap rip off they made a revolution with there franchise. With over 400 cars and 100 tracks, you could play the game 50 times and it would still be different each time.

Gameplay:

The moment you launch the game, your thrown into a race. At the end of each race you are rewarded with the games currency credits, changing certain difficulties (I.e Transmission, AI, etc.) will give you a percent bonus on the top of each race.

Each Car is divided into classes, A B C D E F S then R1 R2 and R3. So saving up for the biggest and baddest car in the game would take you a very long time. Reason being that the races reflect your car. If you take your stock car with no modifications into a race, you could find yourself in trouble however if you do upgrade your car, chances are you will dust all the other races within a lap or two. This way it gives you the sense that you are rewarded for putting effort into your car. Psyhics was also a feature that Forza have always stayed good at, so no suprise to hear that nothing has changed.

There are 2 new major features to Forza 3 which im sure many of you have already heard about.

Automatic Braking System - This is in my opinion a great feature for newcomers and veterans alike. Although having it on will have a small effect on your rewarded credits, this truly makes the game alot more relaxable.

Rewind System - If you played GRID you know what this is. Messed up on a turn? Want to smack the car ahead of you so you get the first place? Look no further! and the great thing is, there are no limits to how many times you can use it. You will not be punished by the removal of credits, it is simply a tool to test your will power.

Graphics:

Graphics have always been a weird subject with forza. The cars have always looked phenominal, and they still do! but alot of people questioned the environment, lighting and such. Well you can rule all that out. Forza 3 looks great. The lighting is the best I have seen so far on a racing game.

Customization:
If you played the need for speeds, and spent more time upgrading/styling your car than actual racing, do NOT buy this game. Why? You'll never get a race done! The customization of Forza is something I've never seen in a game. It feels like an ingame version of photoshop and the possibilities are endless!

As for actual upgrades, you have the option of a quick-upgrade or if your a mechanic or someone thats know alot about cars you can manually go in and upgrade things how you want. This also applies for the tuning of your car at the start of each race but becareful! I raised the suspension of my front wheels in my Ford Mustang GT, and it turned into a drift machine.

All of the upgrades, themes, tunings that you make can be uploaded to Forza 3's showcase. This in a nutshell is an online auction house where the community can trade, sell or buy items.

Summary: Forza 3 comes on two discs because of the amount of content there is. This truly is a great game and is up there with some of the greatest for the xbox.

Im sorry I have left alot out on this review, but, I really have to go play forza! Ciao!
