Not what I expected...

"Forza, Microsoft's long-awaited racing sim, is finally here." Forza Motorsport is supposed to be this long awaited racing game that was going to be better than Gran Turismo franchise. I don't see how it's better. There are a couple of different modes in Forza, like arcade mode and career mode. In career mode, you start out choosing a region, America, Europe, and Asia. Each one has it's pros and cons. You will then choose a car from the region you chose. You will have 2,300 credits and choose from about 3 different cars, each around 2,000-2,100 credits. You can then proceed to racing, buy upgrades or new cars, or tune your car to perfect perfection. The game isn't that fun and sometimes, It's extremely difficult. The game gives you some help by giving you a suggestive line as you race. It gives you suggestions on when to brake. When it turns red, that means hit the brakes and turn. But that still doesn't help with the extremely hard turns or bad handling. It doesn't give you a real sense of speed like Need For Speed, but gives you a customization that was missing from Project Gotham. This game has some of the best graphics i've seen so far. There's sometimes dead pixels and the loading screens seem to take forever and sometimes the loading doesn't follow the loading screen. On one race course that has people in it, if you look at them closely, you can see all the pixels and the whites around their edges. It's pretty stupid since there's a ton of "people". The detail is really amazing. You can see paint transfer when you crash into a boundary and your rear bumper will fall off if you wreck your car enough. All the music was by Junkie XL. They're music is really good and fits with Forza very well, but there are no words in the songs. Who wants to go cruising the track with just music and no real spoken words in them? Junkie XL may make really good music, The game would be better with licensed music somewhere in it. I bought my copy of Forza Motorsport for around $7.50, but it was used. It came with xbox live arcade, which made getting it slightly better. Rent it first, and if you like it, go out and buy a copy, but if you don't, keep playing it for a few days until you have have to return it. Hardcore gamers that love racing will love this game. It has all that you know and love about racing games. Customization, licensed cars, and really good racing music. But Forza delivers more that just that. It has amazing graphics, real simulated cars that will actually be destroyed if you abuse your car enough. If you aren't really good at racing games, pick up one with a good tutorial, then ease your way back onto Forza Motorsport.
