I got it back. and theres this huge stickr on it. it says "Refurbished" in 3 languages! and its not one of those stickers you can peel off...no its one of big ones that stick tightly. if i try and remove it i know its gonna leave that sticky stuff. wtf man, wtf?

not only that...thats not your original console. There is a difference between refurbished and repaired.  If it is what i think it is...they couldnt fix your console and sent you someone else's that they repaired earlier. Thats what refurbished is...a repaired and repackaged item (ever see the refurbished stuff at Sears? Same thing man...).Â
They have my console right now because I got the three red lights. Im SO scared that ill get stuck with a refurbished one. I really hope that if they cant fix it that they send me a brand new one. I know its unlikely, but they better, cuz this is the second time I sent mine in.Â

I really don't think they try to fix your system when you send it in, they just immediately send you back an already fixed one, that way they can get you your system back. You'll almost certainly get a different system than the one you sent in.
Yea, I dunno, about 4 months ago my release day 360 died. The one i got back was brand new, but way louder. Now that one was sent in a week ago because the disk drive was literally burning my damn disks, like black rings around it, and clicking. So sent that in...we'll see what I get back. I suspect they actually fixed it, considering when I sent in the 3 red lights they shipped back one the same day they got it (which basically indicated to me it was FUBAR), and this one it took a few days.

Now that the one they sent me broke, they sent me a prepaid box. So no shipping this go around, at all. Been short the Xbox a week and a half, which is a good turn around time especially considering their prepaid boxes are three day express and not overnighters.

Did you ever write down your serial number before you sent it in , cause if so, get it and see if it matches the one you have now to see if it is the same console..Make any sense?

yep, I noticed that when I got my repaired back, and it was my console, same serial number plus they told me to send my hdd in with it, which I did and it came back with all my saves,profiles etc on it just how it went. took them 10 business days to get it back to me but it was under warranty so yea.. but its hell quiter then it originally was, they definately changed something inside.

i work in a hardware store... so Goo Gone Wd40 Laquer Thinner ...hot water? Soap and hot water Mineral Spirits hotter water... finger nail All these will work to get that goo off.
