I just got through talking to Xbox Customer support and there official word on the pricing of the different levels of a Extended Warranty for the Xbox One is at this time that there is no official information on said questions about pricing... this pissed me off, i've even gone to there site where you can get the warranty for the Xbox One, but you have to have one to register to find out what it costs! This makes it very difficult to choose if you are trying to decide between Gamestop service plan or an Xbox One Extended Warranty.

Get the extended Warranty after the launch of Xbox 360. hopefully Microsoft has taken great care this time with Xbox One. No hardware issues this time. Microsoft has not rushed this Xbox out it has been 8 years of difficult lessons for Microsoft. I'm sure that Xbox one won't up and die. But you never know so getting an extended warranty for Xbox one is worth it. Just in case. I really hope Microsoft has made sure that Xbox #3 will not have any hardware issues. Xbox had a faulty power cord, Xbox 360 had RROD, E74. So maybe Xbox One will not have any hardware issues. third time lucky.

But better safe than sorry. Get that extended warranty.

well lets make it simple. it's going cost at least
$100 repair after the first year. Hopefuly they toss on other year like they currently do.

I know best buy is charged $80 for 2 year. Store warrenty you take crap in walk back out with other one.

rrod cost MS billions and class action suit. I would hope they learned their lesson

@k2theswiss: They did... They fixed the RROD over 3 years ago with the 360 by improving the chipset.
