Xbox One glitches

I finally got my xbox one working , but there are a few problems. When i try to use the interent explorer it says i need a gold account, but iam already setup wth one ,and iam already signed it.So it wont let me use IE. Also i set up for the xbox to recognize my cable box. It displays my cable box model number, but it wont recognize it.So i cant usethe tv feature either. Has anyone had these problems , are these simple glitches that can be easily fixed, or do i need to return my xbox one.
