xbox 360 problems...

Hi guys, basically i've had my xbox for about 2 years and bought it brand new. In the last few weeks its been playing up each time i plug the plug and play charging cable into the USB port. It crashes the xbox and then the 'red eye' appears. I switch the xbox off and take the cable out and the red light goes and i can play my xbox no problems. Im wondering if this has happened to anyone else? If so is it the xbox or is it worth buying a new cable and seeing if thats the problem? I've been wondering if its a power surge that makes the xbox's red light appear as i've read that when the red eye appears, its to stop the xbox from being damaged. Any advice would help! Thanks in advance :)

I would ring the customer support number for your area. You might get something decent out of doing so. I had a few errors with my 360 elite last year and they replaced it with new hardware.

Sounds like a faulty battery or cable. Replace the cable and see what happens.
