Hi.

I'm in a spot of bother. My xbox one console is stuck on a strict nat type and can't get a teredo IP address. It also says it's behind a firewall (which I'm pretty sure it isn't).

I've tried everything: opening ports manually, setting the console as an exposed/DMZ host, all sorts of combinations of IPv6 settings, I even tried resetting the console to factory default. And still it's stuck on the same problem.

Any help would be kindly appreciated. And please no sarcasm like "should’ve got a ps4 wankity wank wank".

Cheers! :-)

@nizzo05: At least a type 2 would be fine.

Have you tried connecting directly to the modem? wired connection I mean.

It's not your console, it's your ISP settings.

If you bypassed your router, and plugged directly to your modem, and was still stuck behind a firewall, then your isp is most certainly the problem.

I'm in the same boat, been stuck on Moderate NAT settings since I bought my Xbox One at launch. Nothing I do seems to make a difference.

Things that work for me sometimes:

Use directly a cable to the modem, reconnect to the network, change multiplayer games (Call of duty is mostly the reason that my NAT type changes everytime. Some games resolve it for me.)

Resetting the modom is also an option, but that would be a mess.

Try this, because on my PS4 (I know, I know don't kill me) I couldn't play any rounds of Killzone Shadow Fall online because of my router and I tried changing settings to no avail. So I bought a new router and it fixed my problem, now I have no issues online.
