Yeah you need the hard drive for old Xbox games. And you need either the hard drive or the memory card to save, but not both. (I recommend the hard drive) If you want the hard drive you would actually save money by getting the premium. So don't get the core!
I suggest you just get the premium, the HDD is like 100 dollars (CDN) anway. So after buying a hard drive it comes to the same price as the premium but no wireless, or headset, or ethernet cable, or HD cables.. Â
