solid red light, no error

My Xbox 360 slim recently stopped in the middle of playing and the power button went red and the screen went blank. When this happens everything stops working, the disc tray even stops mid open or close.

I tried different things like unplugging everything, switching outlets, taking out the hard drive and the only thing that worked was when I unplugged just the hdmi cable. Then everything works fine.

is it a common problem for something like this to happen, does anyone know what causes it, and does anyone know a solution?

Uhm.... I've had the solid red light before and yeah it just means check all your cables. As for your friends Xbox... Thats news to me.

Anyway, Microsoft sucks so I will not be owning an Xbox One.... ever !
