hello, new user question, I am not sure if this is a stupid question or not, anyway. the question is should i power on and off the xbox one console by using power strip?

worry about the electricity consumption, and not sure if right or wrong to totally power off the console by unplug the power cord if I don't play at all?

Just change the power mode to "Energy Saving" under settings and Power & Startup. The downside is you'll have to wait for it to boot each time and it won't be able to do updates when you're not using it.

So long as the console is turned off all the way beforehand, turning it off by the switch should be fine if you're that worried about it using electricity.

Change the mode in the settings menu so the console fully powers down when shutoff. This turns off the Kinect, the console does not sit in standby like it does with the other setting.
