Do you mean like a handheld? ...No. There's problems plaguing the PS Vita and 3DS, and it would just take away more development time from development teams to make more games for this new system.

The 3DS has some good games, but it has like 1 or 2 new big games in development for the foreseeable future. There's not a whole lot in the way of third-party support, so you are basically just counting on Nintendo to release their next big game for the handheld, hopefully one you'll like. Otherwise you're downloading older virtual console games, or eShop games.

The Vita started off with some okay games, and a lot of its games look really nice, but the problem with the Vita is that its 'big' games are really short and low on content. Again, similarly to the 3DS, the Vita suffers from the situation where you're waiting for one of Sony's development teams to pull all of the weight and release the next big game on the system. The Vita broke into the artsy, indie scene a bit more than anything - so if you like indie games and bite-sized games, then maybe that's a good handheld to have. But slowly and surely, it seems like the Vita has become a companion piece of hardware to the PS4. IE, Sony isn't really trying to support the Vita with original games. And third-parties might try, but fail miserably.

Microsoft would be smart to just avoid the handheld market altogether. As much as I've enjoyed handheld game systems in the past, it seems to me that handhelds are suffering way too much as tablets and smartphones become popular for gaming. And it really puts stress on your development teams to support more than one game system with original games.

I would buy a portable Xbox one. But in all of this time. Microsoft has no released a portable Xbox, Xbox 360, So a portable Xbox one is out of the question.

Microsoft knows that a portable version of the Xbox brand. Would not sell well enough to be worth it. No one has been able to "defeat" Nintendo in the handheld videogame department. Sony did well with the PSP series at 80 million, but didn't come close to matching Nintendo's 154 million of the DS series.

Sony, Sega, SNK, NEC, Atari and others have gone up against Nintendo's portable gaming systems and lost. Microsoft is wise to focus on it's wonderful on-line multiplayer game service. Xbox live is the best on-line experience that Nintendo has no hope of matching. Even Sony hasn't quite matched up to Xbox live.

Microsoft could have a portable system quite easily if their just released a gamer version of the Microsoft surface tablet. If Microsoft were really intent on going down the second screen gaming route. Which thus far has not really caught on. Neither Sony, MS or Nintendo have made the second screen fad, much of a huge success.

So I don't expect a portable Microsoft gaming system anytime ever. It is not worthwhile for MS to do this in all this time 2001-2014 MS could have made a portable Xbox but decided not too.

sure! its not really a competitior to psvita and 3ds, seeing its just a xbox one on a smaller screen with no extra games. So long as its well priced!
