Phantasy Star Universe is an old game and you have to pay a subscription fee to play online. I got it because it was on sale at £9.99. Tbh, it was probably ok last gen but imo, there's no reason to buy it.
Between those two, you should be looking at Mass Effect.

sure they are 2 different games being that one is an mmo and the other is a single player. However just looking at the gameplay videos and the general ratings, i say that mass effect is going to give you more for your money. Phantasy star looks fun, but its an old age game. "Out with the old and in with the new" as they say.

Phantasy Star Universe all the way! I played this game and it was really fun. Although it might be long it has the best online multiplayer I have ever seen! Play this game online for real action. Also in order to get all 1000/1000 Achievments you just have to beat the game nothing special. So Phantasy Star Universe is my pick. Although many people don't play it I think this is the ultimatie online MMORPG!:D
Phantasy Star? Do you mean CoD4 or Mass Effect? Cause I don't know who in their right mind would need help deciding whether to get an unbelievably horrible game like Phantasy Star or to get an unbelievably awsome game like Mass Effect.
I own both of them and I would defintely say Mass Effect. Mass Effect has an amazing story , amazing graphics and memorable characters. Phantasy Star Universe has a boring single player and dated graphics. I am in no way a PSU hater. I have put about 300 hours into the online mode since I got it last May. I have a level 60 CAST character whith green hair and blue skin. Most people say he looks like Captain Planet. If you don't believe me look him up on PSU his name is SEV. PSU can be an awesome multiplayer experience. Providing you can find the right people to party up with. Many people on PSU are moody and mostly just sit in the lobbies and do nothing. Also about 90% of the female characters online are actualy guys so watch out.
