I really liked the last to Fallout games as they are very good games, and it has been almost 2 years since New Vegas.
So is there or is there not going to be another Fallout game(?), because I would really like another one.

Fallout Online is in the works I believe, and I know Bethesda won't just abandon one of their prized IP's. Hopefully we get a new one by next year, I am jonesing for more Fallout.

By next year? No way.
I doubt we'll see a new game (Fallout/TES) this gen (not counting DLC or TES: Online)
It will come
And the first Fallout game was Fallout 1, not 3! (nerd rage)
Bethesda's got that MMO, Dshonoured, Doom 4 and Prey 2 and ongoing Skyrim DLC comming up, so it'll likely be 2 or even 3 years before we hear about the next Fallout game. which I'm a little upset about since Fallout is easily my favourite IP of theirs.

Well New Vegas was announced pretty close to when it came out, so its likely we could see a new Fallout by 2013.
Give Bethesda time. They're still working on Skyrim DLC and I don't think they want to pass the buck on Fallout 4 like they did for Vegas. It'll probably be next gen but Bethesda have fought fiercely for the IP so it's very unlikely that they won't / aren't developing Fallout 4.

Yeah this is an interesting thing, when do they start developing the staple IPs for the next generation. Fallout 4 would be an attention getting part of an opening line-up for the next gen!
It would almost be an auto-purchase for anyone who was getting a next-gen system.

though they did JUST create a new engine, they might want to get a Fallout game in before having to make anotehr new engine for the nex gen.
I really hope there is. I had so much fun with Fallout 3 and it runs so crisply good on the 360 :)
Happy Canada Day!
Cheers! and Cheers Again!
Oblivion was released in, what, 2006? We didnt get a sequel untill 2011 with Skyrim. Fallout 3 was released in 2008 so I wouldnt be surprised if we see another one around 2013 to 2014, but hopefully it's still on Xbox 360 and not next generation platforms because I, for one, will not be able to afford the next generation systems for quite a while, lol.Cyanide4Suicid3Your forgetting about Fallout: New Vegas in 2010, if we were using your theory, it would be 2014/2015

Impossible. Obsidian used all the assets that had already been created for F3 for New Vegas. All the textures, objects, character models, mechanics, everything, & then just added to it. This is why it was able to come out in 2 years time. Even with all this the game still needed at least 6 more months in development.
Usually a game of that size takes no less than 3 years. It would be impossible for Bethesda to produce a new Fallout game for 2013.
Yes there is going to be another Fallout game. As far as we know F4 is Bethesdas next project. As we speak i bet they are in their offices right now building F4 & you dont even know it. All you have to do is look at the facts we do know.
Bethesdas games take any where from 3 to 5 years to craft. Now this team has been building games for years now, they are very effecient now. Skyrim was miraculously able to be built in 3 years time.
Their last game was released november 2011 so the earliest you could see a new title would be Novemeber 2014. Wait.... we're not done. This is right after the next gen consoles start releasing. That right there tells us they will likely just build it for the next gen console, especially considering these console are maxed out.
Now then take into account an extra year needed to not only build a bigger game, but the extra time needed to build a game for next gen hardware & you have Novemember 2015. The game will likely release 3 & a half years from now on 720, PS4 & PC.
All you have to do is look at the facts we do have to figure such things out. These things are easy to predict.

One thing i want for sure is Obsidian either developing or renting its services to Bethesda Softworks for the next Fallout game. Fallout New Vegas was way superior than Fallout 3 in role-play, story and characters - and the DLCs were amazing. Cudos to Obsidian! Great job!
Not all of the DLC was good, Dead Money was the worst DLC in Fallout history. But I do agree with you about Obsidian, I enjoyed New Vegas better than Fallout 3.One thing i want for sure is Obsidian either developing or renting its services to Bethesda Softworks for the next Fallout game. I am not so sure about Dead Money. The back story, the premise i thought was great. It started out slow but if you actually take the time to read and understand the story - i thought was great. I would say Mothership Zeta was the worst. Bottomline is Obsidian are a master-class writers and their game characters and stories/quests are top notch.

I agree, I didn't find Dead Money that fun to play but I enjoyed the setting. I forgot what it was called but I thought all but one of the F3 DLC was terrible as a setting, story, and for gameplay and quests. It is quite humorous when people present their own opinions as facts. This speculation of the release date, of which i used all the facts we know to predict this. I didnt use opinions to predict this.
I took the facts we know about Bethesda ( facts ), the time it takes to build their games ( facts ), their track record ( facts ), the date at which it could possibly be finished give we already know how long their games take to develop ( facts ), the possible & most likley date of next gen & factual reasons as to why the game would release on next gen ( because of the facts ) & the prediction could be true.
I just used the facts to make a prediction, i didnt give an opinion on anything. The game industry is a very predictable one.
I dream of the day that we get a true sequel to Fallout 2. My dreams are too outlandish, it seems.
At the very least, I'd trust Obsidian more with making another Fallout than Badthesda. And considering Skyrim just came out last year, another Fallout might be seen in the next few years, but who knows.
