Well, personally I wouldn't try it. I would just buy a new controller. But google is your friend. :)

As long as you have the right screwdriver you should be fine.

From what I've seen of taking other controllers apart in the past is, just be carefull all the buttons and insides don't just fall out everywhere when you open it (sometimes it can be tricky to put everythig back in the right place)

Also, be carefull not to pull any small cables that go between the two halfs.

You'll need a T8 bit I believe. It's not complicated. Open it up ad clean off the soda you spilled in there :)

Just have the right screwdriver, a can of compressed air or a camera, you should do fine. The camera is for taking pics of the controller's insides before you take anything out. That way you can have a guide for putting them back again in case you accidentally spill the controller's guts out. ;)

If i was you i would go out and buy another one or take it into a store that deals with things like that. No way would i try and fix one myself.

Thanks for the replies. I will look through my tools for a proper screwdriver so i dont strip the screws :P.

I disagree on spending another 50+ bucks on something that is possible to fix for free.

a place like Sears or Autozone should have every possible screwdriver you need. and there are several websites ive seen that sell the bits used to open consoles (like the old segas and nintendos).
