I go to HS and have alot of homework and stuff to do so i only get about 2 hours MAX of playing videogames each day. am getting ESIV and the 360 at launch. How long will it take me to complete this game if i only do the main quest and a few other side quests and stuff. A month? Remember 2 hours MAX, sometimes only 1 hour.

the main quest is approx 20 hours if you know exactly where to go, what to do, who to talk to, and what to buy, etc.  A more realistic number is 30-40.  And approx 150 hours worth of additional quests, from guilds, people, etc.  So it wont be a short game, even if u rush through the Main Quest, hand in hand with a walkthrough.  Plus, many times in morrowind before you could do a certain quest or advance a certain amount you would have to get stronger by doing some of the many optional quests, etc.  If this is true for Oblivion, then expect a lengthy game that may take around a month for an average gamer to complete.  If you want to complete it 100%, ur looking at several months at least.  keep in mind this is for a single character.

it will take a million years
#8 Posted by Tyek_1230 (2388 posts) -
I heard that for an experienced gamer around 50 hours... for newb around 75 hours... but with all the side quests it'll be around 150 game hours to complete

if it takes 100 hours then thats still only 50 days, take it step by step and you should be fine.
but i never beat games...  i get stuck on one stupid part and never play it again..

Sorry, I don't mean to brag but I've already finished Oblivion. And I mean every single quest and it took me well, well, under 150 hours to finish it. Nearer 60 hours. Granted I had a book to help me but I hardly ever used it.

I'm tryin' to finish fully for the second time now but I've increased the difficulty, and added a good few mods. My favourite by far is the one that lets me keep a pet baby skeleton named mr. bones and a pet mudcrab I called scuttlebutt who I'm teqaching to dig for clams.

Ahh, I love the modding community.

A total of between 10-20 hours to beat the main quest at first, so it may take u...eh...probably just below 1 month to beat it.

#21 Posted by acesion (1938 posts) -
Its about 25-30 to beat the main, 15 for each of the guilds and for everything else about 100 HR,s this is if you are fast traveling if you are not fast traveling then double the time for each.

Unlocking all achievements took me about 90 hours. So you will spend 45 days playing oblivion.
#26 Posted by anithe18 (210 posts) -

#27 Posted by Infernoply (3012 posts) -

#28 Posted by lukasz_erecinsk (1235 posts) -

#29 Posted by Trickshot771 (12686 posts) -
FRESHMAN! GET HIM! Anyway, if you JUST wanna beat the storyline and get the achievements, it'll take you like 30 hours or so. I played it for around 120 because I like to explore and stuff.
#30 Posted by Squall910 (1206 posts) -

Man this thread is old, lol

Well I completed nearly every quest in the game and it took about 115 hours by that time I was WAY to strong and could kill every one in one hit (in stealth mode) so I stopped playing because it was to easy... but I never tried putting the difficulty up, always left it at around 75%

hahaha, his days last over 40 hours. And dang man why do you spend 8 hours a day on videogames? Your skin must be white as snow lol. Anyway, I spent like 100 hours so far on oblivion.

#36 Posted by gruntelite (215 posts) -
Beat? you dont "beat" oblivion. I guess you can do absolutely everything there is and explore every centimeter, even then you might miss some quests because of some choices or something.

If you guys are advanced (AP) at all, I pity your Junior and Senior years. They have been the two most insanely difficult years of my life, and sooo much work. I'm talking like 6 hours of homework a night. And SATs and college!
#38 Posted by Flaming_Ape (3246 posts) -
The main quest took me about 20 hours my first time through, and the total time you'll spend with the main quest combined with the faction quests is approximately between 50-70 hours.
#39 Posted by CaUs3 (2903 posts) -
100 to 150 good solid hours
#40 Posted by masterbeef1234 (153 posts) -

I dont know it took me a few weeks to do the main quest, and completing the arena. But im in HS and i had tests and homework too.

#41 Posted by -ZeRoHouR- (8087 posts) -
Well, not sure if you trying to say beat the game with 1000 achievement points or just beat the main quest

Beating the main quest probably took me about 10-15 hours.  Getting 1000 points, I have over 120 hours.

A year if you try to see everything. I am on hour 27 according to my save and I am barely halfway done. I too have pre-season football, homework, and school, so I know how it feels to be tight on free time.
